In 2016, we made an update to our pellet basket. To extend the life of the basket and improve the efficiency of the basket, we have added an additional fire grid to the pellet basket. The fire grid is placed on the bottom of the basket. As a result, the aeration in the basket is significantly better than before and the pellets simply burn better and more efficiently. This allows the basket to be used even in slightly less aerated stoves and burns even cleaner than the previous model. We were also able to further reduce the flue gases as a result. Also, the fire grid protects the bottom of the basket from the extreme heat of the pellets. This gives the basket a significantly longer life. The fire grid is included as standard when ordering a pellet basket.

Unique setting

The pellet basket 2.0 also received a unique setting with the update. Due to the settlement of the steel, the deformation of the basket by extre heat is minimal. This is unique with our pellet basket and that also clearly distinguishes us from other suppliers. Logically, this setting and the additional fire grid gives the pellet basket a significantly longer life.

Method

You can also burn wood pellets in your fireplace or wood stove. Using this pellet basket, you can easily experience the benefits of firing wood pellets. You fill the pellet basket with about 5 kg of wood pellets. You can easily ignite the fire with a firelighter or fire gel. After igniting, the pellet basket will burn for 2 to 3 hours depending on the supply of oxygen in your fireplace. Tip! The lighter the pellets are in color (softwood) the easier the basket will burn.

Is the fire grate included free of charge?

Yes, 1 fire grid and 1 bag of wood pellets (10 kg) are included free of charge when ordering the Pellet Basket 2.0

How long can I fire with the free bag of pellets?

You can fire about 1 day on 1 bag of wood pellets. Of course, this does depend somewhat on the power of your fireplace and how handy you are with controlling the oxygen supply of your fireplace or wood stove.

How much space should be left around the basket in my stove or fireplace?

We keep approx. 2 cm. Clear space around the basket for safe use. Also note that the basket should be filled from the top. So there will have to be room there to use a steel scoop to fill the basket with wood pellets.

What distinguishes the Pellet Basket 2.0 from other providers?

The Pellet Basket 2.0 is made of high quality 3 mm steel. thickness. Other providers tend to use much thinner steel. The Pellet Basket 2.0 has 2 unique settlements on the top which minimizes the chance of deformation of the basket. In addition, the Pellet Basket 2.0 has a separate fire grate that ensures significantly better combustion of the pellets. These points thus ensure a significantly longer life than baskets from other providers.

Is the efficiency as high as firing wood pellets?

When firing wood pellets you will notice that the stove gets ‘slightly’ less hot than when firing wood blocks. So you may find that it takes a little longer to warm up a room. This ultimately has no effect on returns. This is because the consumption of logs (kg per hour) is significantly higher than the consumption of pellet (kg per hour). So you will add less fuel per hour which will also make the stove slightly less hot. For many customers, this is actually experienced as pleasant since it usually becomes far too warm in the room in question when stoking on logs.

Can I use the pellet basket to keep the stove warm at night?

Yes, you can keep the pellet basket warm from about 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. when used properly. There are experiences of customers known to us where the pellet basket is restarted in the morning with the glowing coals from the night before.
